Zaryn Dentzel, born June 8, 1983 is the founder and CEO of Tuenti, Spain's largest 'invite-only' social network with over 8 million users.
Dentzel originates from Santa Barbara in California and had his first go at social networking aged 21 when he co-created the political social network Essembly in the US. He first came to Spain at age 15 as an exchange student and would return ten years later to read Spanish Literature and International Relations at University before creating Tuenti in 2006 with four other friends.
Ever since, he has become one of Spain's wealthiest and most famous young entrepreneurs thanks to the success and fast growth of Tuenti . He has been featured extensively in the Spanish media and recently revealed his ambition 'to change the way people consume information in Spain' and to get every Spaniard on Tuenti. Tuenti was acquired by the Spanish telecommunications giant Telefonica on August 4, 2010 for a total €70 million, though Zaryn still continues to run the company as its acting CEO.
He is single and lives in Madrid, where Tuenti has its head office not far from the Spanish Parliament.
